CX: Their recent changes and what it means for you

Hello Otixo Users!

If you discovered Otixo through CX (or if it was the other way around), you’ve most likely heard about CX’s recent changes to their Terms of Service. In case you haven’t, here’s a brief summary of the changes:

  • CX’s 10 GB Starter free account will now require that users log in at least every 15 days.
  • Existing CX Users can upgrade for just $.99 a month (here).
  • CX will mark existing free accounts as inactive if they are not logged into at least once every 15 days. If 15 days goes by without a login, the CX account will be marked as inactive and will no longer be accessible for free. CX grants these Users a 30 day grace period to purchase a plan and re-activate the account.
  • CX’s Desktop Sync will be a paid feature beginning in 2013. It will be included (for a limited time – until December 31, 2012) in the $.99 a month upgrade CX is offering to their existing users.

We checked with CX this morning and can confirm that accessing your CX account through Otixo (ie. clicking on CX when you’re in Otixo) will count as an activity, thus keeping your account “active” and free.

So if you’re stoked about CX, you’ve got something to add to your calendar – click around in your CX account via Otixo every 15 days OR pay them $.99 a month for your 10 GB account.

Yeah, I’m not too happy about that.

sounds more like a task than a service.

Downloading everything and putting it into Dropbox.

    Thanks Otixo!

I am pretty sure this has more to do with cleaning out accounts people never use. Signed up and never returned….
